Gladwell's favorite sources are evolutionary biologists and behavorial psychologists. The Skinner box is his Chartres. In other words, people interest him only as examples of manipulable neurons and nerves. He is obsessed with the modification of behavior this way or that. His view of life is that of the marketing consultant, yet through the charm of his storytelling, he has spun the illusion of writing "human-interest" stories. But the humans in his tales are infinitely malleable pieces of hard-wiring.Религия маркетинга и бихевиоризма. Десакрализация par excellence.
. . .
You want to feel good about yourself, you see, while you're assimilating Gladwell's vision of people as objects, and the world as a place where the winners don't waste time on uncalculated behavior with no substantial yield.
