В воскресенье Света летит в Питтсбург, делать доклад в университете Карнеги-Меллон по нашей совместной работе на тему распознавания "скрытых структур" в многомерных сигналах -- асимптотически оптимальная оценка размерности по конечной выборке, сортировка по размерности, сегментирование изображений, "информативное" квантование непрерывных сигналов и т.д. Обычно предполагается, что многомерные данные в заданной предметной области лежат на компактном гладком многообразии. Это упрощает разработку и анализ алгоритмов. В действительности это часто не так.
